Environmentally friendly natural products instead of chloroparaffins in the fatting phase of the tanning cycle
Principal Investigator:
Emilia Bramanti
Project type:

ECOFATTING aims at demonstrating the use of an innovative technology for the fatting phase of the leather tanning process, with the goal of producing new or existing products with a significantly higher eco-sustainability profile. The specific technical goal of the project consists in the demonstration of use of a new category of products of natural origin, capable of substituting chlorosulfonated currently used in the fatting phases during the leather tanning cycle.
Main goals: use of fatliquoring natural products which allow leather manufacturers to obtain the European eco-label for their products; less contamination of wastewaters; less generation of sludge; reduced consumption in the wastewater treatment stage.
